MAVERICK - 100% Merino Wool first layer

We call our 100% Merino Wool base layer line Maverick, named after the local Montana ski mountain the Duckworth brand was conceived by our founder, John Helle, a third generation rancher with a premium wool source and an appetite for the highest performing Merino Wool layers possible. Reviews

I've had Ice breaker, Ibex,

"I've had Ice breaker, Ibex, Smartwool in long Johns. These are every bit as good if not better. Being Scotch I'll be looking for a spring sale to purchase a few more pairs!"

Maverick

"A high quality piece merino wool. A great high activity base layer."

Aaron S. (5/5)

I think I needed thicker ones.

"Not as warm as my other wool long John's from Alaska. Nice and light and breathable though. I think next time I'll get a heavier set."

David C. (3/5)

Lightweight, warm but not too warm...

"I can wear these under cargo pants in 35 degrees weather while it's raining and still retain my body heat yet go inside and chill with them on like they're very breathable in warm temperatures yet they trap the air when it's cold and I don't really feel the wind come through too much either."

Samuel H. (5/5)

Feel great, but no test of warmth yet

"Look and feel good. Won't be able to put them to the test until hunting season that's when I'll be sitting in the stand. Then I'll be able to compare to the warmth of synthetic materials. Why not have a hunting category for use???"

Michael T. (5/5)

New fav wool brand.

"I lived in my duckworth base layers all winter. I will be purchasing from this company again. A new favorite."

Michael M. (5/5)

Another quality Duckworth purchase

"Feels like a quality garment the I bought to pair with the quarter zip for a base layer. I can’t rate the warmth yet as this purchase was for a fall hunt."

Q&A

What's the inseam on XXL, please?
Thanks for sending us this question, Jake! The inseam of our XXL Men's Maverick Leggings is 28 1/2 inches.
What is the difference between this and the peak leggings?
The difference between the two is the thickness and fabric weight, which is below! Maverick Fabric Weight: 160 GSM Maverick Peak Fabrick Weight: 220 GSM
Any chance you could stitch stirrups on bottom of the legs? I know(yes, that's usually a feature on women's garments).... leggings tend to creep up on me
Hi There, Unfortunately, we are not able to do that, but I would recommend reaching out to a local seamstress, they might be able to do that for you.
Are these treated with formaldehyde during processing? Hoping to find something that won't trigger formaldehyde allergies.
Hi John, We love this question! We do not use any formaldehyde treatment anywhere within our supply chain - rest assured there is no formaldehyde treatment in our finished garments.
Is the maverick peak ever going to come back into stock or is that discontinued?
We will have a batch of the Maverick Peak Leggings coming into stock in the next few weeks!
